How to use the group generator

Paste your class roster into the box on the left — one name per line. Choose whether you want a specific number of groups (say, four teams for a science stations rotation) or a specific number of students per group (say, three per group for a partner-plus-one project). The generator instantly builds balanced, random groups: names are shuffled first, then dealt out one at a time so group sizes never differ by more than one.

Don't love the result? Hit Re-shuffle and get a fresh mix in a heartbeat. When you find a set you like, use Copy results to paste them into a lesson plan or email, or Print to hand out a paper copy. The Copy link to this list button encodes your roster into the URL so you can bookmark it and reuse the same class list tomorrow.
